Job Description

Account Manager position in the air charter / private aviation industry. Recent or upcoming college graduates are encouraged to apply. Successful candidate will be energetic, outgoing, and tenacious. You will work with high-profile clients in need of private jet transportation, matching them with the appropriate aircraft owned by our vendors. Every sale involves customized pricing and logistical coordination. Success is achieved through strong relationships with both customers and vendors and the ability to maintain relationships with them.
Majority of customers are collegiate sports teams (football, basketball, etc), government entities, celebrities, corporations, and high net worth individuals.
Aviation experience or degree is not required but can be helpful. Business Development Manager

The Work

Air Planning is seeking a Business Development Manager. Our company services customers in need of private air charter transportation globally, matching their needs with the appropriate private jet aircraft, while providing single point of contact, high-touch client services at every step of the way. Our boutique brand and dynamic team have set the standard for private jet services for over twenty years.

Our clients include sports teams, corporations, government entities, notable persons and high net worth individuals. Our customers come from a diversity of markets including entertainment, finance, industry, and the public sector. The perfect fit will be honest, fun, positive, outgoing, energetic and excited. They will be highly skilled at expanding our client base and increasing revenue by identifying, contacting and cultivating new client relationships. Most of the prospecting will be conducted via telephone, email and via social media. Some travel is required.

The Skills

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Capable of thriving at a small, hands-on boutique with other highly-skilled people

  • Demonstrable and proven success in increasing sales revenue via your own client development and revenue expansion efforts

  • Ability to work in a small team of 1-5 employees and meet outreach, lead and revenue targets for new business

  • Experience with developing targeted business development campaigns and executing on those efforts to increase clients and charter requests

  • Self-starter that can execute plans under the supervision of director of business development

  • Manage and monitor personal output, adjusting as required to achieve targets

  • Report results to leadership in a concise manner – No PowerPoints, just the concise facts on progress and strategy execution - results.

The Requirements and Preferences

  • Sales experience is preferred as is experience with client management

  • Air charter industry experience is strongly preferred

  • 2-5 years of business development experience

  • BS required, degree in Aviation Management preferred but degrees in marketing, sales or another commerce-related field are also beneficial

  • Experience in the very high-end spectrum of the travel industry is preferred as well as experience in the markets that we serve

  • Experience with utilizing social media to drive customer demand (as opposed to social media for the sake of social media) preferred

  • Experience with SEO and online marketing, especially utilizing platforms such as WIX is preferred

  • Spanish speaking is beneficial but not required

  • Experience with using Microsoft Office products

  • Humor with humility, tenacious but fun collaborator
